|
| This project was initiated to build a highly
configurable, extendable platform for digital broadcasting services. Unlike
the famous and very well implemented 'VDR', which concentrates on recording
and replaying digital video stuff, this code tries to do its best in parsing
and providing digital television services, as commercial integrated receiver
decoders like the Premiere d-box do. |

| dvbstream |
|
| dvbstream can broadcast either a (subset of
a) DVB transport stream or a DVB program stream over a LAN using the rtp
protocol. It attempts to be compliant with RFCs 1889, 1890, 2038 and 2250. |

| The DVD player written by Matjaz Thaler lets
you play DVDs through a DVB card. It features an OSD for file/disk navigation
LIRC support, Dolby AC3 and LPCM sound support and experimental subtitle
support. |

| mplayer |
|
| mplayer is a popular video player for Linux
supporting a variety of input formats. It can both play MPEG 2 files recorded
with a DVB card as well as play other formats using a DVB card as the
output device. |

| VDR - Video Disk Recorder |
|
|
VDR is a fully-featured digital TV receiver and a digital video recorder
software. It allows you to view, record and replay digital TV programs
(both FTA and encrypted) through a DVB-c, DVB-s or DVB-t card. The user-interface
is implemented as an On-Screen-Display (OSD) which can be navigated
using a keyboard or an IR remote control. Thus, VDR will run like a
true VCR without a monitor and mouse attached.
Since version 1.2.0, VDR features a plug-in interface (allowing such
things as (S)VCD replay, DVD replay, MP3 player etc.), one-button time
shift recording, and recording and replay with only one DVB device.
