(Answer) (Category) linuxdvb.tv FAQ : (Category) Hardware :
Are there any consumer set-top boxes available based on the DVB card and the Linux driver?

No, such a thing is not currently available. However, there are two interesting set-top boxes available that can be easily modified to run Linux with a DVB card:

The Fujitsu Siemens Activy 300 is a PC-based set-top box with a TV-out VGA card, a LAN interface, an MPEG decoder and a Common Interface. A DVD drive and the DVB card are available as options. The unit runs on a Celeron 300 MHz processor. It comes with Windows 98 pre-installed. The retail price is about 1300 €.

The GCT-AllWell iDVD 3036 is a PC-based set-top box with a DVD drive, an MPEG decoder, TV-out graphics and LAN. Like the Activy 300, it has two empty PCI slots. The main difference is that it runs linux pre-installed, it has no hard drive by default and a slower processor (Intel ??? running at 233 MHz). The retail price is about 700 €.
