linuxdvb.tv FAQ

(Answer) (Category) linuxdvb.tv FAQ : (Category) Hardware :
I've heard there are different DVB-s cards available. What is the difference?

There are currently four known revisions of the DVB-s card available:

Revision 1.3 boards have an LNB loop-through connector, a composite video output and a line-out audio jack. S/PDIF output as well as RGB video output are only available through a jumper on the board (see http://www.linuxdvb.tv/documentation/faq/cache/22.html for details about J2 jumper layout).

Revision 1.6 boards are identical to Revision 1.3 boards but they have a different tuner.

Revision 2.1 boards have yet another tuner chip, but that one is fully supported. The main distinction is the missing LNB loop-through connector. The composite video Cinch connector and the line-out jack have been replaced by a hoseiden-like connector. An adapter cable provides a line-out audio jack and Cinch connectors for S/PDIF output, left audio, right audio and TV signal.

Revision 2.2 boards are almost identical to the 2.1 version except for a different audio chip. The cards are fully supported.
